Biography

Dennis Conti has a career spanning over 25 years in the telecommunications field. His responsibilities have ranged from software engineering management to senior-level management positions in sales and marketing. During his career, Dr. Conti has been part of the pioneering teams that helped develop some of the industry's most significant satellite communication systems - from early two-way, commercial satellite systems (VSATs) to today's most sophisticated broadband satellite system (Spaceway).

Having retired from Hughes Network Systems in 2002 as a Senior Vice President, Dr. Conti became an independent consultant to suppliers and users of telecommunication networks. In addition to providing technical help, Dr. Conti has also stepped in to fill vacant general management positions on an interim basis. 

Most recently, Dr. Conti has also been available to help clients in applying for the government's Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP), part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

  • Directed the SATCOM marketing department to provide technical support to the domestic sales team
  • Helped win Fortune 100 accounts in the automotive, hospitality, and service station segments
  • Co-founder of DirecPCTM, the world's first Internet broadband satellite system; named "Founding Father" of Spaceway, the world's most complex commercial satellite system.

Assistant Vice President, Software Engineering

  • Led a software team responsible for the introduction of the world's first two-way, small dish commercial satellite system
  • Managed the software development and installation of TDMA and INMARSAT satellite systems world-wide.

Chairman of One Touch, Inc.
Board Chairman of this Hughes' subsidiary that was a pioneer and leader in interactive distance learning.
